Something forgotten

I was adding a browse lookup to one a clients file and when <V> was pressed
to display a screen, I noticed that the person's name was being displayed on
that screen even though it is a dummy 'field being filled by auto processing
in the file being browsed.

There are 2 more name fields on this screen which needed to be displayed.
On the above screen, the dummy field letters were visible. The dummy field
for the person's name was resolved and I realized that this is the same
dummy variable I am using in the current file which is again filled through
auto processing. Since I am doing a lookup in auto processing to check for
the presents of an open item in this file, if there is one, a lookup is done
using the name code to fill the 2 dummy variables using the same 2 letters.
The names appear on the screen.

In this particular case, there should only be one record in the browse. To
insure that if there are 2 or more open items, I am going to add if:@bk="V"
and handle the programming to insure that the correct names appear when the
screen is displayed.

Summary: One can resolve dummy fields on another file's screen, from a
browse, by defining and filling the dummy fields in the current file.
