My 4M Plus is definatly squarish, but flimsy is not an adjective
anyone who has lifted one would apply. This critter definately
keeps my desk from flying away.

If necessary (remember though that attachments are likely to be
detachments on the FP list :-).
As for needing drivers for PostScript, none are necessary on *nix
systems beyond sending the PS directly to the printer which can
automatically detect it if one doesn't send specific
initialization strings.
It's been years since I looked inside Microsoft generated
PostScript, but it used to add all sorts of cruft including
commands to talk to the printer and request return data which had
to be stripped out before sending the files to a *nix print
spool. I would have to look at 20-year old perl code to see what
my interface scripts to to clean this up.
At one time, I had a printer to fax interface that would look
inside Postcript send from Microsoft Word to extract info from
the fax header page then forward to HylaFAX (nee FlexFax) for
delivery.

Many companies that have made themselves dependent on [the equipment of a
certain major manufacturer] (and in doing so have sold their soul to the
devil) will collapse under the sheer weight of the unmastered complexity of
their data processing systems.
