OT: email problem

This is out of my area of expertise and maybe one of you can advise me as to
what is causing the problem.

At least once a week at one of my client's, a 2 person office that are using
Outlook with a shared PST file on their server. Yes, only one person can
use the email at a time.

Problem, the boss comes in early and opens outlook on his machine. When he
tries to reply to an email it gets bounced back with one of those
administrator etc as the sender. The message states that the IP address may
be forged. It shows their actual static IP address.

I logged into the other computer and was able to resend the email without a
problem. If that machine is rebooted, the problem usually goes away.
Outlook is installed locally on both machines.

This is annoying by client as I don’t know what might be causing this
problem.

Any suggestions as to what to look for?
