Anzio for the Iphone...

Hi Bob,

I'm sending this to you via the filePro list... to drum up support. :-)

My younger brother has been regaling me with how utterly fantastic the
Iphone is, and I mean full blown fanatic convert. If there was a
move-on.org for Iphones and new Apples, he would be the CEO of it.

Anyway, he, of course, still uses filePro... and he has been dabbling in
some kind of something that lets him at least *see* a filePro screen. I
think he said something like has a DELETE... but no ESCAPE key yet. :-)

Any thoughts to porting Anzio to the Iphone? I know they have a truly good
SDK program, and even a method for releasing your software directly through
the millions of phones with the touch of a button. A real ka-ching thing
for you if you could do it. Just think, probably 2 or 3 hundred filePro
developers would toy with the idea of buying it... and then probably 6 or 7
or maybe 8 of them might actually do it. :-)

Obviously, the market isn't there for the filePro niche. But, if you had a
terminal emulator as good as Anzio, or even one third as good as Anzio
available to Iphoner's wouldn't that give many thousands of them access to
their legacy systems?

Like I say, the SDK and their support program looked very good, and cheap,
maybe $99 for the whole buy-in, or maybe even free.... don't remember.
There payment/commission plan was unique and sounded pretty damn good for a
developer such as yourself. If you get say 20 to 30 show of hands from this
small list that it would be something they would buy... would it give you
impetus to start developing, if you haven't been already? Multiplying that
small number by the number of mailing lists of this type out there... and it
might amount to two or three hundred bucks to you all in one burst! :-)

While we're at it... Ken, Ron, Bud... same question... but your market is so
much tinier and limiting... I would never expect an Apple port considering
there hasn't been one in almost 30 years. So, Bob's product is the next
best way of running FP on Iphones. It might even be a better way actually.

Oh well, I'm ready for all the zillions of reasons NOT to try this. Hit me
Bob. :-)

John
