I created a Face book group for filePro

The thing that upset me about the filePro Facebook page is that I
couldn't figure out how to view the page without actually signing up for a
FaceBook account. As I recall in the past, I was able to go in and search
for a Facebook page without necessarily signing up for an account. Is there
some way to circumvent this?

Without requiring me to sign up, Facebook should at least allow me to go
in and search to make sure nobody else has setup a "forged" account under my
identity.

Also, I don't usually chime in on issues like this, but my view is that
you are ALWAYS representing the business you work for, even when you are
off-duty.

Many of my family members are involved in retail and banking operations
where the image of the company you work for is EVERYTHING. It's even a
reflection on the business of your other family members who are NOT employed
by those firms!

Do you really want to deal with a banker or trust your retirement funds
to or hire a computer consultant whose Facebook page shows them in frequent
drunken orgies or that shows them taking frequent wildly extravagant
vacations (well beyond their means)?

I don't consider that discrimination at all. (Well, OK, maybe I do have
some sympathy if it is a son or daughter or a brother or sister that you
have no control over who is the "black sheep" and driving off all your
customers...)

For example, I would side with medical schools who reject students based
on Facebook pages of the students that demonstrate they are frequent alcohol
bingers who host illegal under-age drinking parties and then post (or allow
to be posted) photos of the parties on Facebook.

I'm not being prudish, I tipped a few brews occasionally myself in
college, but I didn't drink to excess and it wasn't illegal back then. The
illegal drinking and, even worse, posting of photos shows such a bad
judgment, even for young college students, that I would not want that kind
of doctor treating me, even if they are smart enough to get into medical
school.
