I just checked. If I -y ! -z ! then I get the right records back from
sort selection.

I can't check the automatic table because it's encoded, and has a
password, which I don't know.
That may be an error, or just a mistake.
In any event, if that table was encoded by 5.0.14 or newer, that might
be my problem. It's back in the realm of the sane now; thanks.
