As the earlier response hinted rather unkindly, you are asking this 
question in the wrong list. Informix is one database, filePro is another.
Nevertheless, I may be able to point you to a solution.

When you run a terminal emulation program and connect to your host via 
telnet or SSH, the emulator can pass to the host its "window size", that 
is, the number of rows and columns. If that mechanism is not working 
correctly, the environment on the server may come to an erroneous 
conclusion about your window size. On some terminal emulators you can turn 
off that feature, in which case the ROWS and COLUMNS configured staticly 
in the host will remain in place.
