"Never heard of" what?  filePro?  /dev/_tcp?  Invalid argument?

I can't imagine why filePro would access "/dev/_tcp" at any time other
than checking what filesystems are available, or their freespace.  Can
you give a specific example?

That would be a very strange way of SCO to report a resource shortage.
