I don't know where you got the idea that we're filtering out AOL
mail (but then your reasoning often alludes me).
There are 10 AOL addresses on the FilePro list. I don't have any
idea how many of these people post to the list.
I currently have 212 messages in my general mail folder from
various AOL users, none of whom are specifically whitelisted.
I have to give credit to AOL for their efforts in reducing spam,
and their implementing things like their SCOMP, Client TOS
notification, feedback loop which allows people maintaining
mailing lists to get their traffic to AOL users with minimal
hassle. AOL, being the 800lb gorilla, has brought pressure on
several major broadband providers to clean up their acts, and
limit the ability of the broadband customer's zombified Windows
machines to inflict damage on the rest of the world.
