OT: Have You Noticed Something Similar

I use SpamAssassin as my SPAM filter, and it deposits what it
recognizes as such in in the mailbox ~bob/Mail/spam.

I've been accustomed to finding as many as 40 or more emails
in it most mornings, but recently the numbers have dropped.

This morning there were only 8 (and none got by my filter).

Are the spammers slowly beginning to find that it's a useless
exercise?
