I'm trying to figure out what "death of the founder" refers to.
SCO was founded by Doug Michels and his father. The senior Michels
was forced to terminate his association with the company after some
quasi-business related indiscretions long, long ago and I don't know
what's become of him, but it's not relevant.
Doug Michels spun off an element of the business, and became its
head, when the core of SCO was first sold. He is now retired and is
still living - at least he still replies to the Happy Birthday email
I send him every year.
I believe SCO's "direction and coporate policy and culture" continued
as it was for 2 or so years, until its control was again transferred.
