| Cause, "allowed forward slashes" is open to debate. So far as I know.
FWIW, NcFTP on Windows XP allows me to change the current local
directory by using either forward or back slashes,
And from a command prompt in Windows, if I'm at C:\ and execute
"chdir /windows" my prompt becomes "C:\WINDOWS".
