Erm... *confused*
PHP runs under httpd (of whatever flavour), and thus under HTTP, with or
without SSL.
OneGate runs under httpd (of whatever flavour), and thus under HTTP, with
or without SSL.
Not seeing the difference at the communications layer aside from one setup
being in PHP, the other in Perl.
What OneGate -does- do for you is get all your data to you via simple
lookups in filePro. If you can do a lookup, you can use OneGate to get
your data and then put whatever back out to the client dependant on the
task at hand. PHP doesn't do that unless you write the equivalent of OG in
PHP, which I've considered and rejected.
You're talking about the strength of fP being its ability to integrate with
3rd party applications. Actually, I consider that an area of shortcoming,
but one that OneGate vastly eases in terms of web-based applications.
