Even if you use Mark's tools, you still need http or related technology to get
to your data.  Besides, filePro greater strength all these years has been its
ability to integrate with third party applications.  Why not PHP or CFML?

Again, the project should cover a vast range of information to benefit all
parties in as many areas as possible.  I will love it to be opened enough
so that members can create subjects and have those subjects evolve into their
own set of common interest shared across the community.

It will not be wise to reject all else and stick to a single path.  This will
simply limit interest and growth. 

I personally cannot afford to buy a filePro runtime for handle a large load
of hits.  It will be nice if fp-Tech sponsors the project and provide us with
a license to support the project.   How about it fp-Tech?
