Having installed mySQL a couple dozen dozen on various *nix boxen, the 
instructions they give you I agree are confusing. The link in the TA to download 
the files is the same as I sent you.

There is a pkgadd version you can download vs the tarball. The pkgadd version 
*should* handle a lot of the housekeeping that the TA does manually. I would 
strongly recommend.
