To address the points raised so far :)
Walter Vaughan:
* Thanks for the link! I was hoping for something a little more
detailed tho - I am not familiar with building and installing binaries
on our OS6, and worry that I would blow something up (Linux I have
more experience with, but not a huge amount)
* We aren't looking to do server migration, but thank you for
suggesting the various linux distros. The SCO box is our best piece
of iron, so we'd like to use it.
* We aren't doing anything transactional; PostGre would be overkill.
Even so, after a couple years messing with filePro I am quite used to
doing things non-transactionally <rofl>
Jean-Pierre A. Radley:
This system was originally set up by a third party, and I am not
familiar with SCO or how they distribute updates / upgrades / info.
However, a quick google on SCO TA gave me enough clues to find their
knowledge base and do a quick search. (googling "SCO" is almost never
profiable for me, as there is too much noise revolving around the
lawsuits and subseqeunt blogging and ranting)
I found an article on how to do it
http://wdb1.sco.com/kb/showta?taid=126347&qid=1424083428&sid=758358603&pgnum=1
but would be nice to hear from anyone else on their experience with this.
Thanks all!
Tyler
