I have a filePro way to add qualifiers to a file. It does it from
processing so you can add the key$qual, data$qual and then either copy
the indexes to index$qual.A etc. before running the rebuild option.

It has come in handy to just tweak for a customer. I do have the builds
for the indexes built into the filepro processing. It was just
simplier, but it would only be necessary to copy the index.[A-Z] to the
new qualifier and then do an dxmaint with -ra to rebuild all for that
qualifier.

If you have scripts to build indexes for the live file, you only need to
set PFQUAL=zz, and then run your script and it will create all the
necessary indexes.

They add a record which indicated the qualifer they want, then it
generates the appropriate files. It could easily be tweaked for other
applications.

Works - Windows or Unix. Be glad to send it to you.

Nancy
