	Subject: Faxing from FP

I just discoed that my main client prints a report that lists all
the items that a client has purchased over the quarter. The report is sorted
by client and item number. The result is one large report that breaks on
client name. This report is then separated by hand and hand faxed to each
client.

I am guessing that people have faced the faxing from FP problem
before, so I am soliciting suggestions.

The system is DOS 4.7 ver. I can capture the report as a file and
move it over to a Win based PC for faxing if required. I expect to write a
Basic program that will separate the individual clients out of the big
report and save each one with a unique file name. That same program will be
able to capture the fax number and put that into a header of some sort if
required.

Essentially, I would like to find a Fax program that will take a
file, get the fax number from a header
and transmit the file with out additional user intervention.

Can anyone offer some suggestions as to a direction for me to
pursue?

	Thanks

Tom,

I am doing a similar thing for a client. However, instead of creating one
large file which breaks on the cust code, I am creating separate print
files.

Using Printwizard, each print file is converted to a PDF file and the
emailed to the customer.

What I did was create a separate file for each customer who gets the report.
All records are in this file are selected and the print file is the
customer_name.txt and saved in a folder called pfspool. Printwizard is run
against all of the txt files.

As my client wants to archive these reports, the pdf file is moved to and
archive folder under pfspool and the txt file is deleted.

This makes a lot more sense then having to hand separate the reports and
more the justifies the small cost of Printwizard.

By the way, if they still want to FAX the reports, Printwizard will do that
also.
