FWIW, I am on your side!
A hammer and a rough surface brick used as an anvil should do the trick.
If anyone is short on these items, or needs a back-up set, I can
furnish the hammer for $25 and the brick for $15.75. Shipping and
handling is $15. The bricks are a bit short as I have only 50 or so of
them. The hammer will be new.
Your global warming ideas are right-on in my book!
