Whoops... I forgot I beta tested Window Vista Ultimate this summer, and had no 
problems with fpODBC 5.0.13. Shoulda posted that. Mabye I did and forgot. They 
let you run business apps on Home Basic? I'm sure there is something in the EULA 
that prohibits that. :)

FWIW we are transitioning a few client workstations from XP to Ubuntu when the 
drives need replacing.

Actually Ubuntu is as irritating as Vista is with asking permission when it 
needs additional permission. It's just that the end users will never be given 
the root password so they really can't break anything.
