filePro and Vista

As a test, I installed the new Windows Vista ("Home Basic" edition) on
a system here, and copied filePro onto it. Aside from the following
issues, it appears to be running fine. (Note that I have not tried
the actual filePro install. Rather, I just copied my fp and filepro
directory trees over.)
First, the license manager (I ran the standalone version, rather than
the service version) triggered a firewall warning the first time I
ran it. (This is due to the server listening on a TCP/IP port.)
Subsequent runs did not trigger any warnings.
Second, there appears to be a new security feature of some sort that
prevents me from creating files in the root directory of C:, so I
cannot create the "\fppath" file. Setting PFDATA/PFDIR/PFPROG in the
environment cures that issue. (I believe that the batch file created
by the actual install includes these variables, anyway.) Creating
directories is not an issue.
And, for those still hearing "DOS is dead" for the Nth year in a row,
filePro 1.2 and 3.0 run on Vista as well.
