Similarly a Jornada 548
I think I did use the alternate version of the 4.1 binaries as the dos
emulator emulated only a 80186, but I also think both versions actually
worked.
Ken posted a little list of the various alternate dos binaries here some
time ago. tiny memory model, real mode, protected mode, etc.. which I have
been unable to find in my saved mails.
It was more or less useless anyways except as a curiosity.
Running the emulator killed the normally 8-16 hour batteries in about 20-40
minutes or and made the thing hot to the touch.
For portable devices you will have to move up to something that can run the
real windows version natively and has a larger screen
or you'll have to only use the device as an accessory or a peripheral.
Maybe with a custom db & forms application environment on the device like
handbase and some custom syncing processes for batched device-server
nteraction.
Maybe with a web based interface to cgi scripts on the server for more
immediate device-server interaction.
