Don't know about "MS-Office for Mac", but their PeeCee version has full access
(snicker) to just about anything you can think of. You could even set excel up
to use a web query and have filepro supply the data as a web service.

We've been demoing SYSPRO software here and one of the demos they trot out is
how easy it is to develop an order entry system with full security(as far as you
get from those folks in Redmond) in excel. The example was for ordering shoes in
various styles sizes and colors, and the interface just kinda worked for
entering a lot of data in a lot of random locations.

Back to filePro...

Of course this would be easier if filePro "The RAD Environment" allowed for a
separate data storage layer or if fpSQL would work over a IP.AD.RE.SS:PORT deal
like MS-SQL, MySQL, PgSQL, Sybase, Interbase, or Oracle. Again, just "read only"
today would keep filePro on death row for a long time to come, especially if the
structures returned we identical to existing SQL servers.

I don't envy TPTB at fpTech. Who is their customer 5 years from now? Everyone is
getting out of packaged sofware
