| is a nested sequence. It sounds like you are using a
| print code that contains a %s sequence. It probably
| should have been a % followed by a print code number.

I think Mark had it right, and that it's coming from dreport
or rreport. That's a literal string in both of those binaries,
an the %s should be replaced by a string when the error msg
prints, but it's not ???
