It's a pity the cross reference utility was never upgraded to support
long variables as it at least indicates this for 2 character variables.

For each variable it showed the line number on which it was referenced
and prefixed it with an "*" if an assignment happened on that line,
therefore no lines with an "*" meant never assigned, and/or prefixed the
line number with a "%" on the line where it was defined.
