The honourable and venerable Harry K. Whacker spoke thus:
> Hello Kenneth. Who Is Jeremy Anderson? Also I Went To The Page And Again And
> Now It's All Different. Is It True??? I Thought. And Is It OK To Use
> FILEPRO?? After Read The WIKEPEDIA I Deleted Something. PLS Right Back. OK.

Makes one wish for the good ol' days of B1FF on USENET. At least B1FF was
semi-intelligent and had a solid grasp on English grammar, no matter the
spelling and blaring caps.
Given the obvious use of a name like Harry Whacker, I can only say: Don't
feed the trolls. This guy is an obvious troll, and there's -no- reason
to have any sort of argument over his/her mental midgetry no matter on
which side of the fence you sit with regards to filePro.
Sad. Just depressing. I really thought this kind of thing was limited to
the gaming groups on USENET. Many an argument as we've had here over the
years, both righteous and absurdly unnecessary, it's an absolute pity
to see this kind of behaviour hit a professional semi-closed community.
Someone needs to seriously grow up. Christ, even I had better things to do
than something like that--on the worst days in my worst of times.
*sprays Troll-B-Gone in liberal amounts*
And that said, Wiki is hardly an authoritative source -anyway-. For
example, I -know- the entries for both Duran Duran and Sterling Campbell
are seriously flawed, and I know exactly on which historical points. The
people writing the entries obviously don't read liner notes, nor do they
watch documentary videos that contradict what the contributors say.
That I recently read an article on cnn.com which said that Wikipedia was
found to be as accurate as Britannica doesn't say much for Britannica,
honestly.
In short, it's a semi-nice quick-reference for obscure trivia. Where else
can you get a fairly comprehensive list of porn stars and their real names
and biographies in one place?! :) But for technical accuracy, I'd never
use it as a single stop source of data. Ever. The fluidity of the data
and the reliance on the integrity and knowledgeability of the contributors
does nothing at all to instill any trust whatsoever. Interesting concept,
lousy implementation.
