OT: the USB and floppy hassles...

The root cause of my problem with this past install (and it will be for many
others who find themselves in the same no-floppy boat) is that SCO only
allows you to btld from a floppy.  There should be no reason why the ramdisk
image can't fully take over while the user swaps out the install CD for a CD
that has the driver on it... right?  Staying with floppy-based btld support
when no manufacturerer is supplying floppies anymore is well, being
slow-to-respond. fi nothing else.  Even trying to load plain vanilla 5.0.6
or 5.0.7 on this had it had a non-SAS adapter and drives would have been
hard to impossible without BackupEDGE there allowing me to make complete
bootable CD's. I did search the net and ask all the experts I know if there
was a way to load btld's from CD or network and the answer was "I don't
think so, o, probably not."
