Inexpensive BW or Color LaserJet printer

I would like to use an inexpensive (I know that is relative) BW or 
Color HP LaserJet printer.  According to HP any printer with a 
JetDirect card has a print processor built in, I assumed that meant 
it would work with filePro, not a safe assumption.  I purchased 3 
2600 Color LaserJets only to find out they do not work with 
filepro.  Hence I would like to know what HP printers you have 
successfully used with filepro.  Running SCO OSR 5.0.7, Facetwin, and 
filePro 5.x
