Oh, I shall come to hate Novell, I think.

First time dealing with them for support. Well, that's half-true. I got
as far as an hour and a half on the phone with them, the last hour of that
spent on hold. I finally ran out of time before an appointment.

Their hold "radio" is in-house and lists how many in each queue. I find it
appalling that it took an hour with 3 people in the Linux queue and we were
still sitting in it.

And their plugging themselves while on hold... Boy, they're -really-
trying to ditch the stodgy old corporate image. Bigtime. The DJ sounded
almost visibly uncomfortable talking about the new SLES 10 release, the ad
text he was reading having punctuated every point of the product with,
"That'll save you money!"

No, you know what would save the owner money? NOT KEEPING ME ON HOLD FOR
AN HOUR!!!! Resolving my issue promptly!!!

This is a problem with something that SuSE 9.x and even OpenSuSE 10.x have
no issues with. It actually relates to their protecting the software, I
think. But it hasn't been an issue as long as I've run SuSE systems--until
now, when we switch to the "big" commercial version that they pay quite a
bit for.

I'm so unimpressed with Novell right now, I don't even know where to start,
so I'll just end. As it sits, so far I'm thinking OpenSuSE is a better way
to go for anyone that can afford to.
