You got me on this one. I haven't heard of middleware
before.  The basic flow is that a person scans a copy
of an invoice by pressing a key while looking at that
invoice record.  The file is saved on the server. 
Then when someone wants to view it they go to the
invoice and press a button and the scanned image is
opened in the viewing app.
