I am guessing you are asking if any of the developers here who had systems
running filePro under the SCO OpenServer operating system had any issues with
running filePro under FreeBSD?

One thing that is an issue is that you have to issue a different lp command in
printer maintenance to send jobs to the spooler. I believe it is "lpr -d dest"
for SCO OSR5 vs. "lpr -Pprinter" for FreeBSD.

Java's a minor pain. You have to manually download a file from Sun rather than
it be automatically installed.

How do you measure success? Uptime? It should be the same. It should never
lockup or give invalid results. Microsoft with all their TCO smoke and mirrors
does have a valid point. FreeBSD is free as in beer. If the beer tastes good to
you, drink it in, just make sure you know where the rest room are!

What FreeBSD gives you is an extremely well tested OS, and a collection of
opensource applications. FilePro works equally well on both platforms. What you
save in seat licenses is what you will save.
