We have been having problems with getting random SegV's. I am working
with fPtech on them. This email is to see if anyone else is having
these kind of problems and will help in tracking them down.

1) Today we were importing an xml file that contained data to put into a
MEMO field. At the very end of the process table we got a SegV when
EXIT was executed. I found a 'memo' directory in the filepro file's
directory that had 600 permissions. Changing the permissions to 700
stopped the SegV.

I have no idea why this directory was there. None of the other filePro
files that we have that use MEMO's had one so I moved it to the /tmp/
directory and everything still works fine.

2) We have an imput process table that will get a SegV every few days.
When this happens noone can use the file. ? from dpromenu can't enter
the file. Users already in the file can't exit from the IUA menu and
have to ctrl-\ to get out. Once ctrl-\ is done 'ps -ef | grep filename
will find the defunct process. Killing that process returns everything
to normal. Early on I tried rebuilding the freechain, renaming and
copying the filePro file back and none of that helped.

3) I was working with a new input process table and got a SegV when I
tried to write to a lookup() field when the lookup wasn't open. I think
I had hit the end of the file, but I can't remember and I didn't save
the process table at the time and I can no longer duplicate it.

I received an email from fPtech telling me that they had duplicated the
problem. I'm not sure if it is one or all. They are to let me know
when I can test. I figured if anyone else is having these kind of
problems it would be nice if you would contact fpsupport to help in the
testing of this problem.
