In the relative spacial/temporal region of

generation of the following:

stty intr "^?" erase "^H"
And make darned sure you set your emulator to use ^H for backspace.

I used to take the standard ansi entry in fP's termcap, copy it fo
'fllinux', rip out the G*, then copy the G* entries from fP's vt100 entry
into the new entry, and use that.
I personally recommend PuTTY. I use Anzio for SCO systems and dial-out on
serial modems, but prefer PuTTY's UI and configuration by far. To be fair,
no, PuTTY is -not- as robust and well-rounded as Anzio--but it does what I
want for 99% of my terminal emulator situations far more elegantly by my
tastes.
