You'll never BELIEVE what Tom Palmquist said here...:

"You smear 'em, you clear 'em."

Let's see her try anything with a 50lb+ Doberman or German Shepherd, than
re-evaluate her tenacity. It's -easy- to pick on -helpless- little things.
Having been attacked by a Doberman and -two- German Shepherds (all at once)
when I was a kid, I can say that's -not- really something you want to get
in the middle of.
You realise, of course, that now she knows she only has to always keep
a garden trowel within arm's reach, and you'll never step out of line
again. Congratulations on just handing her victory on a silver platter.
Moles don't bother me with an apartment. I need a surefire way to keep
out crickets, however. The Autumn Invasion is just ridiculous, especially
next to this creek we have behind us. My best solution to date has been to
isolate their entry points and put down the glue-tray rat traps along those
areas. They get stuck, you get a whole tray full, and you toss 'em. A
few still manage to evade the traps though. :( We've considered ultrasonic
devices, but we're afraid that it would flush out every spider on the
premesis for the first two days or week (it's common, apparently), and
since we're both afraid of spiders, that's not really a bright idea. Can't
win.
