| | What are you guys/gals using to create PDF documents from filePro
| | applications?
| |
| | SCO Unix based ... !!!
|
| pcl6 .... does NOT handle the line-drawing characters that you might
| use in your fP output table to draw lines or boxes. I'm still trying
| to solve that one.
And I have now solved it. An old called faxjet was provided with
the long defunct Arnet faxboards. It does convert the line drawing
characters. I had been using it solely for a customer who once did have
an Arnet board, and thus had a license for this software.
But now I find that the necessary shell scripts, binaries and support
files are downloadable without so much as a by-you-leave from:
ftp.digi.com/support/legacy/digi/utilities/digifax/released/2.8,I/faxjet.01z
Faxjet will convert a PCL file to a TIFF file, suitable for immediate
faxing, or for further conversion with programs from libtiff, e.g.,
tiff2pdf or tiff2ps.
