Mark,

I know I will be sorry, but I just have to do this.

Good programming skills require a person to be exacting in their logic,
syntax and understanding. It is a wealth of those characteristics that
make you a great programmer. (I do not use that word GREAT lightly, but
in this case it certainly applies.) However, it is just that same skill
set that makes it difficult for you to tolerate fools and incorrect
information that might be supplied by those same fools.

I can see that in your interactions on this list. I do want to point
out that it is certainly possible to provide the members with
information when you notice we fools have gone astray in our thinking.
I find that very helpful and you have enlightened me on many occasions.

But I must take offense when you make comments that are personal in
nature and cut to the heart of a person. This is just very bad manners
and is usually what gets you in deep water around the list.

I am posting this with the hope that you will hold back on pushing that
SEND button after you have created a response to a member of this list
that might provide them with "enlightenment" and check it over to make
sure the informatin is objective and remove any and all personal attacks
about family, education, intelligence, skills and the like.

I realize you are thinking of distancing yourself from this forum, and
that is your choice, certainly, but a little bit of prudence would go a
long way and greatly reduce the need for "flame-retardant" email filters.

As always, I post this with a great amount of respect and I hope others
on the list will show more understanding about their interactions and
stop posting personal attacks toward any and all members of the group.

Good discussion, debate, and an exchange of ideas is what we subscribe
to see on this list. It is a very small communitity and it would be
nice if we could all try to be civil.

Nancy
