OT - help with SCO communication problem

Thanks again for those who responded with suggestions. As several explained,
power surges can do crazy things with serial connections. That was the case
here. The Unix host had a 25 pin serial port and a 9 pin port. The 9 pin
(tty1a) was fine; but the 25 pin (tty2a) was damaged. My hardware guy had a used
mother board with a slightly better chip on it. Replaced the board and away
we went. All is again right with the world.
