John, the first thing you have to do is properly identify your
computer and set your printer as a shared device.

To do this, do as follows:

1. From you desktop, right click on My Computer and choose
   Properties

Depending on your administrative rights, you may or may
not be able to change this information. However, you
should see a tab labeled "Computer Name"; here, you will
see a "Full Computer Name", this is what you need to use
   to point that computer

2. Next, you need to make sure printer is set as a shared
device (perhaps not, but it is safer to do so specially
   if printing from remote PCs).

From your Start menu, choose "Printer & Faxes".
Right click on printer you intend to print to and choose
Sharing ... The printer sharing dialog box comes up.
Make sure the "Share this printer" is checked ON and then
type in a "Share name" in the provided box or field.
Click OK and close any opened windows (those you opened
   to get here).

3. You now have a computer name and printer name. Change
your command to match WIN:\\computername\shareasname as
   needed.

You might need to check "Share Printer & Files" in this
computer within your network properties sheet. If this is
not selected, there is a chance that you will not be able
to give the printer a share name (cannot be shared).

As per the characters showing on your file, unless you
tell filePro to use a table without PCL codes, the
characters you see will be there for as long as the form
you print invokes them. To avoid seeing them on your
output to files, change printer type from "hplaser" to
"nocode" using "printer type" command.

Hope this helps!
