I have never used that. I just tried it and it looks like it might work.
But I've installed/deinstalled/replaced/changed a lot of scsi cards and
drives and I've never used that. Never even knew it was there.
All I ever do is install the driver for the card, using "btldinstall" or
"custom" depending on the format the driver was supplied in.
Then reboot.
Then if it's for a tape: mkdev tape, reboot again.
If it's for a hard drive: mkdev hd, reboot again, mkdev hd again.
Also, are you changing out the controller the os boots from?
You can do that, and it doesn't require supertar backup & restore unless you
are also changing the drive, but it's a few more steps that require more
details.
or just adding more hard drives or a tape?
