Hi,
I have a user filepro and related permissions problem/question.
SCO 5.06
fp 5.0.14d
I have a user named filepro (uid=201) in the usr folder, but there are
no files or folders under it. Is that correct? No one ever logs in as user
filepro so here is the question I did add a .profile file with a umask
entry of 000 to help with the problem which failed
When filepro lockfiles are created why is the permission set to 600
(rw-------) The problem Im having is that if I remove the lockfiles, the new
lockfile will be owned by the name of the logged in user and not filepro. This
of-course will not allow anyone else to log in.
And to really break the system, all I need to do is run the Set
permissions and ownerships menu item under the utilities menu. Then nothing
works permissions problems everywhere
What is going on here and how does this whole thing work? I know that
all the work is done as su filepro or somethingf like that. Any white papers?
Thanks,
Stanley Barnett
