I just had Direcway installed at home, it uses the DW6000 modem and I
agree with this statement.

I haven't tried VPN but when I have to work from home SSH works pretty
good, my house is on a higher elevation and we have an extremely strong
signal.

VNC and pcAnywhere are slow at best even on DSL.

I am 54,000 feet from the local CO so Satellite was my only option
besides dial-up, and my phone lines are pretty sucky so dial-up was bad.
