Because that is where MM keeps the list of current phantoms for each user.
It was just an idea.  I'm assuming the permissions above the /filepro
directory would permit writing of these files.

I'll bet the members of this mailing list that have not used any of the MM
family of menu programs are wondering what the heck a 'phantom' has to do
with filePro anyway.  :o)

Because of issues like this, I gave up on using the 'selector' command
several years ago and converted all of them into -v selection tables.
