DVDs are no longer the highest density.  The xD memory cards for digital
cameras currently pack 0.5GB on a space smaller than 1 inch square and
about 1/10th of an inch thick.  With 10 of these, which total much less
volume than a DVD, I can get 5GB.

And they're planning 8GB in the same space "real soon now".


And, of course, the original analogy was also used to demonstrate the
difference between "bandwidth" and "lag time".
