| Roger, I have not tried using xfer on XP via serial ports - in fact, i
| don't think i've used xfer in serial mode in quite a while - do you have
| any network connection between the two?  if not, maybe some common media?
| if you have, xfer has a file mode ("-lf" flag) that will save the xfer 
| session to a filename, and you can just copy the file from one machine to 
| the other, then use same file mode on the receiving end to get it - if the
| file is large, it is MUCH faster to do it this way.

That, if fact, is the way fPtech recommends it be done.

On Windows, open \fp\docs\filePro.hlp and expand the
Utilities section and read about fPtransfer.
