What we've found works well (at home, at least) is to take all of the little
booklets, loose sheets of paper, and driver disks that come with the system,
and put them all in a zip-lock bag, and put the name of the computer on the
bag.

Of course, most of our computers are not name brands that come with one
"master disk" and a single sheet of paper for an "installation guide". So
we have a booklet for the motherboard, a booklet for the CD or DVD drive,
a booklet for the video card, and so on, plus driver disks for each part.
It not only makes finding the drivers easier, it makes upgrading the system
easier as well. (Pull out the old motherboard booklet and CD and replace
them with the new motherboard booklet and CD.)
