Why?

I'll help you in any way I _can_, including letting you dial into my system,
as long as it doesn't involve sending the files to fp support and you know
the reason why.

By the way, how long has it been since the last filePro conference?

I bought a copy of fpSQL there, which was almost identical to what I had
purchased 15 years prior, but could now handle complex indexes. Shortly
thereafter that I discovered a bug, reported it to fp support, they
duplicated it, gave it a bug report number. Maybe you remember the postings
on this list. It has now been what, 9 or 10 months since then? No one has
contacted me. Is the bug fixed? Is there a new version available for
download? Maybe you know, but I don't. So the last time I tried to help
and followed all your (fp) rules, where did it get me? Did it do me any
good? Do I have a fix to the problem? I'll bet you it still broken.

I've been using filePro for over 20 years now and this has ALWAYS been my
experience with fp support, no matter who owned the company at the time. I
report something, send the files, explain the conditions that make the
problem happen as best I can and it is like sending it to a black hole.
Yes, I get an email telling me that they've received it but that is the last
I hear about it.

I know fp Technologies is a small company and your resources limited, but
after a while, you get tired of banging your head against a wall.

So you don't really care that you know there is a problem somewhere in
filePro which may be overwriting memory and possibly corrupting your
data, or waiting in hiding for just the worst time to crash your system,
and you're content to simply hide the symptom without finding the cause
or the cure?
