Bill,
You could switch from fixed fonts to a proportional font, and with a little
effort, you can get you wider font face. You can also do some fancy things once
you get the hang of using these fonts.
Jim Asman has supplied print tables which will allow you to use many of the
build in features of a laser printer. Using the tab spacing, font selection and
point size, you can almost duplicate the effect you want. In fact you can make
the printing look even better as there are many more fonts available then in the
old dot matrix printer.
Experiment a little bit. Just remember to use tabs, from the left margin, to
place the test where you want it. Then reset to the fixed font you were using.
