Hello all,

Since the horse is out of the barn, I am hereby announcing a beta program
for Print Wizard for Linux (no, not available on SCO). If you would like
to participate, please email me off-list. I will tell you where to
download a copy from, and how to get started.

Like Print Wizard for Windows, this is a command-line driven program. It
takes as input a plain text file, or a file containing Print Wizard Markup
Language (PWML), which can be generated directly from filePro.

Because the Linux environment does not provide printer drivers as such,
this Print Wizard can print only to a PostScript printer. There are some
other restrictions on Linux also.

However, the BIG advantage here is that you can generate PDF files on a
Linux server. These can then be delivered in a web environment, emailed,
archived, viewed, etc. Output files can contain:

* Font changes
* Line-drawing characters
* Picture inclusions (BMP, JPG, GIF)
* Color
* Paper size control
* Form overlays, where the original form is BMP, JPG, GIF, PCL, or PWML

Let me know if you would like to participate.

Regards,
....Bob Rasmussen, President, Rasmussen Software, Inc.
