This is exactly how it's setup.  Sorry I wasn't more clear.

Yes, the index is built on 30 characters.

This is close, but try this setup:

record 1)
     T1) C&P TELEPHONE
     T1) 

Record 2)
     T1) FRED'S FISH MARKET
     T1) FFF

I think that the problem has something to do with the 2nd field being blank.
This is just a guess, but I can't think of any other reason for this.
