problem

I am sure this has been asked and answered, but I have not done
this before.

Situtaion:
RH Linix, Filepro 5.13 with win xp stations
using alpha communicator to secure telnet to Linux.

I have documents
stored on a win xp box with a samba link to the RH Linux box.
I would like
to view a specific document on the winxp based on data I am viewing on the
Linux box.

Basically, executing a command on the Linux box with
relevent data from a filepro record and run a windows program (i.e. read a
tiff file or pdf file) on the windows box.

With the huge brain trust
that is this group, I know someone can suggest a simple yet elegant way to
accomplish this task.

Alpha comminicator is not a must. I
understand there are other telnet programs that may be better for this
situation.

Any suggestions are welcome. Even the ones that tell me to
upgrade to a new version of RH or Filepro.

Thank you,

Richard D.
